Health Geomatics
This research area is focused on the the development of data driven solutions to support decision-making in public health, based on the analysis of geo-localized data relevant to spefic geographical teritories and populations, with different goals:
- optimization of healthcare resources, with particular focus on emergency services
- monitoring and prediction tools for the prevention of pandemic phenomena
- exploring the spatio-temporal relation between non communicable diseases (cardiovascular and respiratory) and enviromental features, with a specific focus on pollutants and heat-waves, towards the planning of smart health cities.
Collaborations and active projects
Since 2016, we actively collaborate with the Lombardy Regional Agency for Emergency Services (Agenzia Regionale Emergenza Urgenza – AREU – https://www.areu.lombardia.it/web/home) on these topics
URBANA (URBan ANAlytics) – ESA, Gmatics
